- the pain or injury itself
- the physical reaction to the pain
- the mental reaction to the pain, catastrophizing
- the social reaction to the pain, shaming

What is trauma healing?
We provide a body-based approach to trauma, stress and pain. Deep rooted traumas are usually not on the superficial, cognitive part of our brains, but deep down in the brain stem. The brain stem holds reflexes, and learned self-protective mechanisms. When an event breaches our protective barrier we react from the brain stem, all odds are off and we do what we learned from our ancestors. Fight, Flight or Freeze.
A Somatic Experiencing® session leads the body through and out, step by step of a traumatic experience without having to think about it or talk about it. We let the body tell the narrative and help it unfold and finish incomplete self-protective responses. Through this process we can resolve deeply rooted fear, traumas and let go of maladaptive behaviors. We can free up energy in the system by shifting towards parasympathetic tone and towards the 4th state of Flow of connections and safety.
